Leading Ladies: LAUREN WILSMAN

Meet Lauren Wilsman: Yogini Extraordinaire. Boss Babe and Lover of Life. I met Lauren a couple of years ago through a mutual friend at the beginning of my yoga journey. She has taught me so much balance through every new chapter of my life. She encourages me to try new movements and breathwork and always remedies any issue I come into our sessions with. What you do on the mat, follows you throughout your day and life. Everything connects.

Lauren (e-RYT 500) is the owner of Get Zen With Lauren. She is a yoga coach and teaches private virtual and workplace yoga instruction customized to your specific needs. In 2013, she completed her first 200 hours of yoga training and in 2015, she travelled to India to complete an additional 300 hours of training. Lauren applied the skills she acquired at Florida State University from her business degree to grow her In-Home Private Yoga business that focused on teaching yoga one-on-one. She quickly realized the positive shifts clients were obtaining in their sessions and it carried over into their daily lives at a surface level. She wanted to dive deeper and reach more people beyond the city limits. It inspired her to create her virtual yoga coaching business, which gives people the tools to counterbalance the challenges that life presents them when they’re off their yoga mat.

Since Lauren was 8 years old, yoga has been a part of her life when her yogini mom gave her a Yoga for Kids video. Being on her mat was the one place she could let go of her teenage insecurities while she was evolving into a young woman and escape the stress of school and social pressures. Still to this day, her mat is her safe space. Everything she’s learned, she’s passed on to her clients to help them reach their goals and uses those principles and philosophies to guide clients into making powerful life shifts. The first step she takes with clients is to help them figure out what the highest quality version of their life looks like and proceeds to create a structured roadmap to bring you through the process of becoming your best self.

From Lauren: “My yoga coaching program is an 8-week program. Before starting the program, I find out first what each clients’ physical and mental well-being struggles and goals are, so I can create a properly structured solution that is customized to what they need. Each week, my clients receive private yoga instruction virtually from me, and we focus on specific poses to heal any of their body tension, and focus on helping with their stress, flexibility, and strength. My clients are held accountable to meditating every day and I ensure their consistency is being maintained through an app that they log their meditation through which they can then screenshot me each week, so they stay accountable to themselves and the program. There are weekly guided meditations and breathwork techniques that are presented in video and audio format, with supportive material information to make sure each technique is clear and accessible. I then have my clients use guided prompts and reflection sheets to help them go deeper into applying the techniques in a realistic way to their daily habits and life. And the main thing that I provide my clients is support. In addition to our 1-on-1 interactions during your private yoga sessions, we also have weekly Zoom chats that I refer to as your Support Call, and these are used to check-in and discuss your progress and growth, and also help me guide you through any challenges that may arise throughout the length of the program experience.”

If Lauren wasn’t in her current career, you’d most likely find her working as a Realtor, but not nearly as fulfilled or as happy as she is following her passion of sharing the physical and mental well-being benefits of yoga. Lauren currently resides on an almost 2-acre farm with chickens and goats with her husband and son!

To thine own self be true.
— William Shakespeare [Hamlet]

1. First thing you do in the morning? Wash my face and brush my teeth to wake myself up; then I sit back in bed to do my daily silent meditation and journaling

2. Best advice you’ve received? Focus on your own field, and not the scoreboard

3. Dream vacation to escape to? Anywhere that has warm ocean water with great SCUBA diving sites; Caribbean

4. Everything tastes better with... Garlic powder

5. How do you stay organized? Google calendar! I schedule everything from relaxation to basic computer tasks

6. What can you not live without? The hot tub that my husband and I bought for ourselves as a belated wedding present; it is key for my relaxation and to soothe body tension, and it has also been a nice way for my husband and I to mentally decompress and socially connect with one another.
