I met my friend, Sabrina Caras, through a mutual friend back in 2009. Sabrina has always been the type of friend who makes everyone feel welcome and is there when you need anything, no matter what. When she told me about the work that Children’s Cancer Center does, how could we not jump right in? So fast forward many moons later and here we are.

“Kids should fly kites, not fight cancer”

The Children’s Cancer Center (CCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children and their families battling cancer or chronic blood disorders.

Ever since its inception in 1974, these programs have benefitted many families coping and battling life-threatening and life-altering illnesses by minimizing the stress of coping with their child’s illness, emotional, financial, and educational support. These programs benefit both the children and their families. With any cancer diagnosis, not only does it affect the individual but their families and loved ones as well.

CCC currently has 29 programs available ranging from music and art therapy to fun family events to parental support groups and outreach. There is something for everyone. CCC is a place where everyone can connect and create lasting memories out of a clinical setting, where kids can truly be kids.
