Kelsie’s Closet Makeover
When your most darling childhood friend calls you and says, “Can you build me my dream closet?” you don’t hesitate; you grab your tape measure, sketch pad, and a whole lot of creative energy and coffee to brace Orlando’s traffic. Because designing spaces that spark joy isn’t just about organizing; it’s about honoring memories, making dreams come true (especially for a Disney princess that moved to Orlando because she got married to her prince charming), and creating a sanctuary that feels as beautiful as it is functional.
Every closet tells a story, and this one started with a vision: a walk-in space that felt chic, personalized, and worthy of the style my friend has carried since we were little girls. I designed the layout to maximize storage while keeping it airy and elegant. Think shelves that double as display cases, rods at the perfect height for her favorite dresses, and drawers that keep every detail in its place.
This wasn’t just about hammer and nails but rather building with intention. Every shelf, every placement was thought through to balance utility and beauty. It had to feel luxurious without being intimidating, practical without losing charm. Because true organization isn’t sterile, it’s a rainbow color-coded love language.
Once the framing was ready, it was time for the best part: styling and organizing. From color-coordinated racks to thoughtfully folded accessories, her systems were curated so she could see everything she owns at a glance, especially her medical scrubs. Plus, personalized mementos from her grandparents, her wedding sneakers, and her vision board.
No dream closet is complete without a little magic. For Kelsie, it came in the form of a delicate chandelier that glows with personality. Her sweet husband, Josh, was the perfect person to help pick the perfect one. It was the cherry on top and a reminder that organization can be lovingly delightful.
While we’re working on Kelsie’s closet, we also did a makeover for Josh’s closet. The man has an impeccable shoe collection and cowboy boots! So naturally, everything was color-coded and sorted by like items.
Instead of keeping the L-shape that the wires had, we opted to use up all of the vertical space and opposite walls. Significantly easier to navigate.
A fun tip we did to utilize all of the space, we doubled up on hanging 2 pairs of pants per hanger. Double the space, double the fun, and great like double mint gum.
Walking away from this project, I wasn’t just proud of the space; I was grateful. Grateful for a friendship that has spanned from childhood to now, and grateful that I get to create environments where beauty and order live side by side. Because here’s the truth: when you design, build, style, and organize with intention, you’re not just building a closet, you’re building joy. Nobody is more deserving of a cozy and beautiful space, especially when you’re busy saving lives. Thank you Kelsie and Josh for trusting our team with this project! xo
